Am Fallbeispiel des Online-Katalogs des Ibero-Amerikanischen Instituts Preußischer Kulturbesitz (IAI) wird die Beteiligung der Schlagworte aus einem lokalen Thesaurus beim Auffinden von Dokumenten in einem multilingualen Bestand evaluiert. Aus einem Logfile gewonnene Suchanfragen von Nutzer_innen des IAI wurden in ein deutsch- und ein fremdsprachiges Purpose Sample mit je 40 Suchanfragen unterteilt und in einem Retrievaltest erneut an den OPAC des IAI gestellt. Die Treffer zu den insgesamt 80 Suchanfragen wurden bis zum einem Cutoff-Wert von 10 manuell darauf hin ausgewertet, welche Indexfelder am Auffinden der Dokumente beteiligt waren und in welchem Maße. Die Testläufe am OPAC wurden umfänglich dokumentiert. Die erhobenen Daten wurden in verschiedenen Exceltabellen erfasst, die für die Auswertung nach verschiedenen Kriterien gefiltert werden konnten. Der Forschungsdokumentation liegt eine Übersicht über die verschiedenen hier eingestellten Forschungsdaten bei. Die Forschungsdaten lassen sich in folgende Blöcke unterteilen: - Lokaler Thesaurus des IAI (Anhang 1) - Anonymisiertes Logfile, aus dem die Purpose Samples gewonnen wurden (Anhang 2) - Übersicht über die Indexierungsparameter der Verbundzentrale des Gemeinsamen Bibliotheksverbundes (Anhang 3) - Dokumentation der Testläufe am OPAC des IAI (Anhang 5) - Dokumentation der Ergebnisse der Testläufe (Anhang 6-11) - Zusätzliche Auswertungen der erhobenen Daten, die nicht in der Publikation selbst enthalten sind (Anhang 12-15) ; This research documentation is part of the study “Multilinguality as a Challenge to Subject Indexing – a Retrieval Test on a Multilingual Library Collection”, which investigates the importance of subject indexing for multilingual information retrieval. By taking the OPAC of the Ibero-American Institute Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (IAI) as an example, the study evaluates the contribution of subject headings from a local thesaurus to document retrieval in a multilingual library collection. A logfile with search queries from users of IAI served as data basis to compile two purpose samples: one with 40 German queries and one with 40 queries in other languages. The subsequent retrieval test ran these 80 queries again at IAI´s OPAC. The research data includes an extensive documentation of the tests run at the OPAC. Subsequently, there was a manual assessment of the documents retrieved by the search queries (up to a cutoff value of 10) with the purpose of checking which index fields contributed to their retrieval and to what extent. Several excel spreadsheets record the collected data, which can be filtered by different criteria for further analysis. A list with an overview of the different types of research data submitted in this collection complements the research documentation.
